Case study: Duo Café

Known for its warm atmosphere and inviting design, this café in Birkenhead faced this challenge: hard surfaces and a lively dining environment were creating excess reverberation, making conversations less comfortable during busy periods. 

Following a detailed acoustic appraisal, Acoustic Solutions Store worked with the interior’s existing timber battens to install 12 custom Autex Mirage panels in Opera Lapis. The result is a  calmer, more enjoyable environment with an acoustic solution that feels cohesive with the space.

Installed at Duo Café in Birkenhead, the intention was to enhance the space without interrupting its character.

Case study: Wiggins Group head office

In workplaces, glass, hard floors, open ceilings, all the hallmarks of a great-looking office, and all the ingredients for a challenging acoustic environment. 

The modern, open-plan Wiggins Group head office was experiencing exactly this and approached Acoustic Solutions Store with the goal of bringing the noise down across the open workspace. The result is a perfectly considered install: a flowing, sculptural acoustic treatment using Autex 3D Savoye Tiles that act as a centrepiece and pulls significant reverberation out of the space. 

Open-plan offices consistently rank noise as the number one complaint affecting productivity. It's the Lombard effect, when people raise voices in noisy environments, creating a feedback loop of escalating noise.
Above the ceiling grid, AAB-3550 panels cut to 550mm squares provide an additional layer of absorption where it counts, reducing sound transfer between spaces without any visual impact at all.
For the meeting rooms and wall elevations, Acoustic Solutions Store installed full-height 2800mm Quietspace panels in Nude White with Vertiface Muralla overlay finished with powder-coated aluminium trim in Flax Pod for a clean, architectural edge.
