This distinctive Tumalo property, an approximately 6,000-square-foot project, began with a unique challenge: the existing house and garage needed to be removed, while an established pond and barn remained as important pieces of the landscape and history. Beginning in 2022 with Copperline Homes, the project evolved into a complete reimagining of the site. We had the opportunity to design not only the main house, but also the carriage house and pole barn, creating a cohesive vision across the entire estate. The clients brought an exceptional level of trust to the process and were unafraid to embrace color, pattern, and unexpected design moments, giving us the freedom to create something supremely personal. Saltillo tile was introduced throughout the main floor, offering the natural durability needed to withstand the daily wear and tear of pets and children. Custom tile by Kibak Tile, based in Sisters, Oregon, was featured decoratively throughout the house, adding a layer of artistry, craftsmanship, and character to the spaces.
Furnishing the home provided us with the opportunity to make two separate trips to both the artistic haven of Santa Fe and the flea markets of Los Angeles, where we uncovered historical gems that were shipped back to Oregon and incorporated into the architecture. Uniquely sized interior doors, vintage fabrics, and furniture pieces repurposed as bathroom vanities adorned the rooms throughout, bringing a sense of history, individuality, and collected character to the home.
