Natural History Museum.

This project is a comprehensive renovation of an aging museum in Connecticut, and is centered around a two-story light-filled atrium that showcases the museum collection while also bringing the exhibits into the twenty-first century. Supporting an exciting organizational mission focused on conservation, ecology, and natural education, the museum will be a welcome addition to the urgent climate dialogue in the twenty-first century.

Static displays are juxtaposed against digital and immersive forms of media. The architecture takes on a warm palette of wood, stone, and concrete to blend into the natural surroundings and extend the mission of the organization. Our firm provided the concept design of this project with Jeff Kaufman of JMKA | Architects.
