Sonoma, CA

This hilltop Sonoma home underwent a major remodel with Pollen Architecture, with much of the house taken back to the studs. Walls were moved, the kitchen and bathrooms rebuilt, windows reconsidered, and the plan opened to make more of the long views across the property. Elements worth keeping, including areas of the original Saltillo flooring, were folded into a new palette of white oak, fir, handmade tile, plaster, and other natural materials. The furnishings are restrained and comfortable, while art adds another layer to the rooms. Exterior living spaces were given the same importance as the interiors, allowing daily life to move easily between the house and the landscape.
