McLean, VA

This renovation of an established McLean home touched nearly every part of the interior. The primary suite was reworked, fireplaces throughout the house were updated, a new stairwell was created, and custom white oak millwork was designed for the bar, office, and storage. Furniture, rugs, and drapery were newly designed for every area of the house, along with lighting throughout, including two commissioned works by Stuart Haygarth: Tide, made from collected ocean plastic for the stairwell, and Spectacle for the dining room. We also sourced virtually the entire art collection for the home, bringing only one existing work into the new interiors. Art, furnishings, and architecture were considered together throughout, creating a home that is comfortable for family life while giving the collection and individual pieces real presence.
