The Shoal Creek project began with a meaningful transition—the client purchased the home from a family member, downsizing and relocating to be closer to their daughter’s school. With a strong desire to create a space that felt both familiar and deeply functional, the design centered on restoring the home’s mid-century modern character while tailoring it to the rhythms of everyday family life. Thoughtful updates included merging two original bathrooms into a single, more functional shared space, reimagining the kitchen with materials and cabinetry reflective of the era, and layering the home in a warm, soft white to create a cohesive backdrop.
Throughout the home, we prioritized custom storage and purposeful design, reworking built-ins and millwork to support daily living while maintaining architectural integrity. Finishes in the stairwell and primary suite were refreshed, and dining room cabinetry was redesigned to align seamlessly with the updated aesthetic. Personal touches—like integrating the client’s love of music, incorporating meaningful artwork, and curating furnishings that complement both new and existing pieces—bring a sense of authenticity and warmth. The result is a home that honors its mid-century roots while feeling livable, personal, and deeply connected to its next chapter.
