A vibrant desert show house in Indian Wells where a circular pool, island-inspired planting, and layered outdoor living spaces create a relaxed environment for entertaining and retreat.
Located within El Dorado Estates in Indian Wells, the Desert Oasis Show House reinterprets a mid-century residence through a landscape inspired by island living and desert context. The design transforms the property into a cohesive outdoor environment centered on gathering and flow.
A circular pool anchors the composition, acting as both a visual focal point and a social hub. Surrounding this central element, outdoor living spaces extend outward to support dining, lounging, and entertaining.
An outdoor kitchen and gathering area accommodate larger groups, while a fire feature lounge provides a more intimate setting oriented toward sunset views. A lava rock outdoor shower introduces a tactile and immersive element within the landscape.
Planting combines vibrant color with desert-adapted species, creating a layered composition that shifts throughout the day and season. Developed as a designer show house, the landscape was conceived in collaboration with Chris Barrett Design to refine the organization and functionality of these spaces.
The result is a landscape that merges structured design with a relaxed atmosphere, creating a cohesive and inviting desert retreat.
