Wingfield Road

Set within the equestrian community of Hidden Hills, the Wingfield Road project balances the informality of a ranch landscape with the structure and amenity of a contemporary residential estate. The design responds to the site’s undulating terrain and broad footprint, creating a series of outdoor environments that encourage movement, gathering, and retreat. The arrival sequence establishes a pastoral tone, with gravel underfoot, loosely organized tree groves, and trough-style fountains flanking the entry. This approach creates a sense of openness and calm, setting the stage for the layered experiences that unfold across the property. The rear yard is organized into multiple terraces, anchored by a resort-style pool and spa with infinity-edge detailing and a Baja shelf. Adjacent to the pool, a covered pavilion integrates an outdoor kitchen, bar, lounge, and fireplace beneath a winged roof structure, creating a central hub for entertaining. Upper and lower terraces expand the program further, including a large lawn oriented toward views of the Santa Monica Mountains and additional lounge areas with fire features. Circulation is defined through a network of stone pathways and steps that connect each level while maintaining a natural, unforced flow. Planting draws from the surrounding chaparral and pastoral context, blending ornamental shrubs and tree groupings that reinforce the site’s scale and setting. The result is a landscape that feels both expansive and grounded, combining rural character with refined outdoor living.
