Pronghorn

Pronghorn is a mountain ranch retreat designed as an elevated escape for a young family, a place where the landscape sets the tone for everything within. Nestled amid the sweeping desert vistas and mountain horizons of central Oregon, every design decision is rooted in a reverence for the natural world just beyond its walls. A warm, nature-inspired palette forms the backbone of the interior - raw timber, tactile linens, textured stone, and exposed brick mirror the rugged harmony of the Pacific Northwest terrain. Large steel-frame windows flood the living spaces with natural light, while a dark exterior creates a quiet contrast. The main living areas blend European design sensibilities with contemporary and vintage pieces, and the kitchen is built around a soapstone and marble palette with timber cabinetry. In place of a television, the living room is anchored by a painting by artist Melody McMunn above the exposed brick fireplace, an intentional choice to draw the eye inward to art, and outward to the landscape beyond.
