Pink House

The Pink House is an extension and response to the Pink Corian Pool. It creates an exclamation point to the collection of small buildings on this beachfront campus. Its contemporary design is a dramatic counterpoint to its neighboring cottage, while the small scale, subtle lines, and color allow it to recede into the composition. The form is clad in a metal high gloss panel, perfectly matching the subtle color of the adjacent pool. The 13-foot cantilever offers a bird’s eye view of the pink pool from the upper level. A mirror-clad light well reflects light into the below ground level, which acts as a painting studio, providing evenly dispersed northern light throughout the space. From the ground, this mirrored cladding disappears into the landscape as it reflects the greenery around it.
