Founded in 2013, Allison Burke’s studio is trusted by discerning clients for creating sophisticated, high-end residential and commercial spaces. Allison Burke brings more than 25 years of experience to the studio she founded in 2013. A graduate of the UT Austin School of Architecture, she trained across both disciplines at Nicole Hollis, Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, and Marmol Radziner. That background still shapes the work: the studio begins every project with plans and sections, not finishes. Before selecting a single material, the team studies how a room's volume, ceiling height, light, and circulation work together, and often reworks walls, openings, and millwork to solve proportion problems that decoration can't. The studio produces its own construction documents, so design intent carries through to the jobsite intact. The team is deliberately small: Burke as principal, two senior designers, and one junior designer. On both interior architecture renovations and ground-up homes, Burke works from the earliest phases alongside architects including A Parallel, Murray Legge, and Matt Garcia, and builders including Arrowhead, Shoberg Homes, and Davenport Homes. The palette favors durable, natural materials over trend-driven finishes, with custom work by Central Texas makers including Sawdust Studios, Rhodes Hinman, and Warbach Lighting. The submitted projects, Overlook, Terrace Mountain, Four Seasons, and Pemberton, show the studio's range. At Pemberton, the studio worked without an outside architect, rearranging all of the home's primary spaces so the plan flows for a family of five. Bespoke furniture is by Mark Macek, Refined Elements and Briley's. Since 2013, the studio has completed 45 residential projects in Austin, New York, Colorado, and Rhode Island, plus four commercial projects, including Suerte, Sugar Mama's Bakeshop, and work for Westlake Dermatology. Its work has appeared in Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Dwell, Luxe, Milieu, The Local Project, and Austin Home. Through Austin's rapid growth, the studio has shown that modern homes can feel warm and rooted in place.
