Three Courts Residence

Three Courts began with a classic 1970s floor plan: well built, but divided into dark, formal rooms that no longer suited how a family of five lives. Architects A Parallel led a detailed design study that reimagined the home as a balanced, light-filled interior, and Allison Burke Interior Design partnered with them to bring it to life. Working closely with the client and architect, we designed the millwork and finishes and fine-tuned every selection, from lighting to décor. Daylight guided the choices: natural light is balanced through the open living areas rather than trapped in individual rooms. Character-grade reclaimed walnut floors bring warmth and a lived-in patina underfoot, paired with rift white oak for a quieter, straight-grained counterpoint. Every material was chosen to stand up to a growing family. The result is a set of versatile, durable and budget-friendly living spaces that handle everyday life and entertaining equally well.
