Set on the shore of Lake Almanor, this summer retreat is built for long, easy days by the water. Kelly & Stone Architects designed a home of warm timber, black steel and broad walls of glass, oriented to the lake and mountains beyond.
The clients asked for warm wood tones and a true lakehouse feel, without the kitsch. The interiors feature natural materials, with careful thought to scale and visual weight of forms. The result is relaxed and layered, familiar rather than themed.
Ainsley Bowen led full-service interior design, in collaboration with Kelly & Stone Architects.
