For a creative couple—a celebrated actor and an emerging jewelry designer—and their two children, this Greenwich Village apartment was conceived as both sanctuary and stage. The home needed to support public lives rooted in art and performance while remaining grounded, intimate and deeply functional for family life.
Rather than impose a singular aesthetic, the design embraces collection and contrast. Film posters, contemporary art, sculptural furniture, and handcrafted objects coexist within a calm architectural framework, allowing personality to lead without overwhelming the space. Moments of bold color and form are balanced by quiet expanses of light and texture, creating rhythm from room to room.
Children’s spaces introduce playfulness and narrative, while shared areas maintain a sense of cohesion and ease. Throughout, the apartment feels layered but not crowded—an environment that reflects distinct creative voices while offering a comfortable, enduring backdrop for daily life in downtown Manhattan.
