Museum Tower Residence

Suspended above MoMA in Midtown Manhattan, an apartment designed for a young couple with a passion for collecting ’60s mod furniture reinterprets the spirit of 1960s modernism through a contemporary lens. The project began with a complete gut renovation—stripping the residence back to its shell to make way for a crisp architectural aesthetic. Rather than recreating a period interior, the design distills the optimism and sculptural clarity of the era into a more forward-looking expression. High-gloss surfaces in an all-white envelope allow vintage icons, a mix of contemporary pieces and significant artworks to coexist with intention. The result is a confident, art-driven home that feels both nostalgic and progressive—a modernist residence shaped as much by its history as by its next chapter.
