Embracing the natural splendor of Westhampton’s iconic Dune Road, this coastal home design is a testament to seaside living at its finest. Nestled on the bay side of this narrow barrier island, the house blends thoughtful innovative design with the stunning natural allure of its surroundings.
Elevated gracefully above the floodplain, the entry floor is a choreography of private and shared spaces. At the rear, the gathering spaces (kitchen, living, dining) open to panoramic bay views, capturing the essence of shared moments against a breathtaking backdrop. This floor extends into the rear of the property with a large raised deck and infinity pool—inviting spaces for leisure and entertainment, perfectly complementing the nearby beach views.
From the moment you enter into the home, you’re met with calming, soft, neutral tones and textures that are consistent with the homes exterior and the surrounding landscape. This consistent material palette creates a sense of harmony from room to room — a seamless flow of coastal elements with contemporary design.
Positioned at the rear of the home, the main gathering spaces — the kitchen, great room, and dining area — are strategically placed to capture the breathtaking views of the dunes and the bay. Here, large windows flood the interiors with natural light, blurring the boundaries between inside and out, and inviting the nautical surroundings to become an integral part of daily life.
The spacious primary bathroom features a large walk-in shower and a freestanding feature tub, offering panoramic views of the bay for moments of serenity and rejuvenation. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure both comfort and elegance, making it the perfect private escape within this coastal retreat.
The home's design maximizes natural light, promoting a sense of openness and connection to the surrounding environment at every turn. Inspired by maritime aesthetics, the exterior curves subtly mimic the form of a ship's vessel, seamlessly integrating built-in planters that infuse greenery into the structure. The Hampton’s natural landscape of rolling dunes adorns the property with sandy expanses, beach grasses, and coastal pines.
