AMA Residence

The primary entry is recessed between two substantial stone volumes, creating a moment of compression before release. This threshold establishes a clear hierarchy between public and private realms. Above, the second level adopts a lighter architectural language: a finely detailed louvered screen wraps much of the façade, filtering light and views while preserving privacy. A defining feature of the residence is the horizontal garden that encircles the home. Planters extend from the upper level, wrapping the architecture in greenery and softening the transition between built form and landscape. While the front façade maintains a composed, inward-looking character, the rear opens fully to the water through expansive glazing, allowing views and daylight to permeate deep into the interior.  The covered terrace mirrors the recessed entry, forming a double-height outdoor room where climbing plants rise toward the ceiling, effectively drawing the landscape upward and inward. Adjacent to the pool level, an outdoor kitchen and bar provide a natural extension of the home’s social spaces, reinforcing a lifestyle oriented around outdoor living. Throughout, the architecture is defined by contrast and balance—solid and porous, grounded and elevated—resulting in a home that feels both protective and expansive, deeply rooted in its coastal context.
