VIRGIN HOTEL

Las Vegas is a city built on contradictions. A synthetic oasis constructed along the peripheries of the Mojave Desert. A global playground created within the remote landscape of the American Southwest. For this project, we have chosen to draw inspiration from these surrounding landscapes, those both close at hand as well as those expanding throughout the desert; the natural terrain which is unlike anywhere else in the world as well as the man made installations which inhabit and are inspired by these lands. In blending these influences with the specifics of the Virgin Hotels and Hilton Curio Collection brands, the resulting design is both eclectic and playful, tactile and comfortable, seductive and surprising. The Chamber designs celebrate the property’s modern desert ambiance, pairing a playful feel with the luxury and comfort that has transformed Las Vegas into the global destination it is today. Organic forms are balanced by a color and material palate shaped by our surroundings. Cozy furnishings will put guests at ease while a closer look may reveal a hidden detail meant to encourage a sense of curiosity. The Chambers are light and bright, featuring a neutral material palate with pops of whimsical touches, as well as warm and modern finishes. An eclectic mix of artwork layers in a residential touch. Perfect for both work and play, the Chambers offer guests a respite from all of the frenetic energy the city has to offer, and are as functional as they are timeless. The American conservationist Terry Tempest Williams said “…every pilgrimage into the desert is a pilgrimage to the self. There is no place to hide and so we are found”. At some level, this is what we aspire to achieve, to inspire guests to find their true selves. What better place than Vegas for that to occur.
