THE BUNGALOW HB

Long Beach is a city rich in architectural history. Everything from expansive Victorian estates to Mid-Century masterpieces can be found within the city’s limits, so it is a natural location for The Bungalow’s third outpost. For this specific venue, we imagine that our muse, a musician deeply rooted in Long Beach’s creative community, has purchased a dilapidated Craftsman bungalow and decided to put her own artistic spin on it in order to breathe it back to life. Maintaining some of the key architectural components for which Craftsmans are known (wood plank ceilings, large fireplaces, covered porches) while simultaneously taking a sledge hammer to others and exposing what remains (wood stud and plywood walls, concrete floors, select structural members) will result in a warm, yet contemporary feel. Mixing in a blend of eclectic furnishings which err on the side of an edgier, more rock-n-roll point of view, this Bungalow will feel unlike any of its predecessors.
