The Billions Brownstone

This was New Wave Design and Contracting's first brownstone, and it was later featured on Showtime's Billions. We renovated this corner brownstone in a Park Slope historic district with Elizabeth Roberts. Two small rooms were combined into one bright kitchen, with a vintage salvaged sink set in soapstone and a Lacanche range. The original staircase was preserved, wood bay seating was stripped back to its natural grain, and salvaged pocket doors were installed with matching trim. Nearly two decades later, it is still one of the projects that defines who we are.

“Antoin wasn’t just honest, reliable, and pleasant, three traits that aren’t often found in contractors – he was an active problem solver who worked closely with me, my spouse, and our architect to achieve our goal at a reasonable cost. Our goal: gut-renovation of a 7,500 square foot brownstone without destroying its charm. I’m not sure if it was Antoin’s old-world sensibilities or his appreciation of craft or merely his ability to grasp other people’s visions, but Antoin gave us exactly what we wanted. And we enjoyed the process. I highly recommend him.”
