SOLAGE

Calistoga, the town which sits at Napa Valley’s northernmost tip, is an international destination best known for its rustic yet refined charm and its celebrated vineyards and spas. A global outpost set firmly within the Northern Californian landscape with a distinctly local sensibility. For the redesign of the Solage Napa Resort, LA based Studio Collective has chosen to draw inspiration from these surrounding landscapes, crafting a palate of natural, honest materials and neutral hues while creating both a casual, yet refined environment from which quests can truly unwind and connect with the natural setting. In blending these influences with the specifics of the Auberge Resorts brand, the resulting design chooses to focus its attention on the simple not the fussy, the organic over the ornate. In the reimagined guest cottages, natural forms will be balanced by a color and material palate shaped by local vineyards. Plush furnishings will put guests at ease allowing them to truly relax and take advantage of the easygoing Calistoga way of life. Custom furniture highlights a simple, yet well-crafted sense of detailing. A similar design strategy is carried out throughout the redesigned public areas including the new event space and redesigned SolBar patio. In addition to these areas, a new, ground up pool side restaurant, Pico Bar, has been added to the property which although equally comfortable, has a bit more of a playful spin to it, allowing for the perfect location to grab a small bite by the pool or for an after dinner cocktail. In all, Studio Collective has stayed true to both Calistoga’s as well as Auberge Resorts’ roots, creating a property which is equal parts casual and cozy yet simultaneously simple and sophisticated.
