The Piha House was designed as a compact two bedroom house for a young couple building their first home. The location was challenging with an unusual triangular shaped and steeply sloping site, but was graced with stunning uninterrupted views to Lion Rock in the west and the lush rain forest in the regional park adjoining the site to the east. The house was designed to the blend into the natural environment with the use of cedar timber cladding and natural materials throughout.
