We take pride in building enduring relationships with our clients, often collaborating with them across multiple properties. This elegant turn-of-the-century home is no exception. After completing their first residence on this coveted North Shore street, our clients embraced the rare opportunity to acquire a larger property on a double lot just steps away; a truly exceptional find. We immediately set out updating the home to suit our clients vibrant personalities and exquisite taste in art. We took great care in paying homage to the era of the home while imbuing all of the spaces with character filled pieces of furniture from De La Espada, Poltrona Frau, Moooi, & Tradition and a whole host of other vendors represented by our favorite multi-line showroom in Chicago, Haute Living. In an effort to expand the functionality of the home we added an addition to the 3rd floor, configured and renovated the primary bathroom and added an elegant study and bar addition to the first floor. An exceptional blend of textiles and rugs serve as the perfect backdrop for the clients growing contemporary art collection including works by renowned artists such as Liliana Porter, Joel Mesler, Clare Sherman and Leon Keer. This project beautifully embodies our philosophy: a seamless fusion of history, artistry and modern living tailored to elevate our client’s lives.

“We count our blessings every day that we found Nicholas to turn our Bucktown house into a home. What separates Nicholas from other designers (besides his impeccable taste) is that he really took the time to understand us as people; not just how we envision using our space, but how we operate in it and what passions drive us through our lives. By taking the time to understand us, he was able to infuse his designs with bespoke details made just for us. This continued throughout, from inception to final product. We loved that Nicholas brought us options, thoughtfully listened to our feedback, and that we made the final selections together, leading to a sense of pride and ownership in the final choices.” “Working with Nicholas was very easy. He was instantly responsive throughout. Because he was able to offer contractors with whom he has decades-long experience and relationships, he was able ensure that the project was managed on time, on budget, and with quality and accountability throughout. We've now lived in Nicholas's creation for about 6 months and are able to appreciate every day the subtle nuances that make our home feel like it was built just for us. It's the first time in our lives that we can truly say that we'd rather be in our home than anywhere else in the world. That is the true gift Nicholas's vision, care, and skill brought to our lives.”
