Situated on a dramatically sloping site in Dallas's Bluffview neighborhood, the home is recessed into the hillside and organized around the idea of arrival as revelation — you enter at the lower level through a mahogany-clad portal, where a stair climbing against a full wall of glass frames the lush, canopied hillside beyond, drawing you upward toward the light. The primary living spaces — living room, den, dining, and kitchen — are placed on the upper level, nestled into the tree canopy and wrapped in a continuous band of floor-to-ceiling glass along the north façade, offering sweeping views into the heavily wooded landscape while a screened porch and outdoor deck dissolve the boundary between inside and out. The exterior establishes a clear material hierarchy: a neutral-toned brick grounds the lower level to the land, while dark mahogany siding on the upper volume connects the home to its forested context and reinforces the treehouse quality of the living spaces above. Inside, a warm palette of white oak cabinetry and wide-plank flooring provides an unhurried backdrop for the owners' collection of classic modern furniture and art — a Hans Wegner Papa Bear chair in the study, Jeanneret-inspired pieces in the living room, sculptural works and paintings given generous wall space throughout — all held together by the quiet confidence of a house that knows exactly where it belongs.
