Set along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, this residence reinterprets the traditional Cape Cod cottage through a refined, site-responsive lens. Textured stone at the base grounds the home in its setting, while vertically articulated cladding and simplified detailing introduce a more contemporary expression. The plan is organized around a central view axis that extends from the entry through the great room and screened porch to the lake beyond, reinforced by large panes of glass that replace traditional divided windows. Varied rooflines, dormers, and a cupola establish a rhythmic silhouette, while interior spaces are composed to capture shifting light and seasonal use.
