Courtyard Cottage is a complete renewal of a Victorian worker's cottage for contemporary living.

We carved a courtyard and first-floor deck out of the centre of the cottage to bring plenty of north light into the living area and main bedroom above. The old dark south-facing living room, kitchen, and garden are no more.

The tiled courtyard and tiled roof deck are reminiscent of our client's Indian heritage. The colour palette combines neutrals with a splash of vibrant colour. High gloss laminates with contrasting edging were an economical way to elevate the interiors and elliptical wall basins are the feature of the bathrooms.
