Studio H Design

Studio H is a Tauranga based design studio shaping architecture and interiors across Aotearoa. Founded by Hannah Armstrong-Gardner, the studio works across private residential homes, multi residential developments, hospitality spaces and masterplanning projects, with a focus on creating considered, enduring environments that feel deeply connected to the people who inhabit them.

Working closely with clients, consultants and builders, Studio H approaches each project with a balance of creative vision and practical understanding. The studio’s work is known for its refined material palettes, thoughtful spatial planning and an emphasis on how spaces are experienced in everyday life. From coastal homes and rural retreats to larger scale developments and hospitality interiors, each project is carefully tailored to its context and brief.

Alongside Studio H, Hannah and her husband Chris also operate Gardo Group, allowing the studio to offer a highly collaborative design and build approach on selected projects. This close relationship between design and construction informs the studio’s grounded, highly resolved architecture.

Based in the Bay of Plenty, Studio H works on projects throughout New Zealand, with a commitment to creating timeless, quietly confident architecture that enriches the lives of its clients and contributes positively to the built environment.
