SDH Studio is an award-winning architecture and interior design practice founded in 2012 by Venezuelan architect Stephanie Halfen.

Renowned for its sophisticated approach to contemporary residential design, the studio creates highly bespoke luxury homes for discerning clients across the United States, the Caribbean, and select international locations.

The practice is grounded in continual research and exploration within the modernist tradition, where clarity of form, material honesty, and spatial discipline are fundamental. Each project is conceived as a dialogue between architecture and place—fusing the warmth and character of the surrounding landscape with refined modern materials, precise detailing, and carefully composed water features. The result is architecture and interiors that are both conceptually clear and emotionally resonant.

SDH Studio’s interdisciplinary team is recognised for its elevated craftsmanship, nuanced use of natural materials, and the tempered elegance of its interiors. Before a single line is drawn, the studio engages in a comprehensive discovery process, listening closely to understand the rhythms, values, and aspirations that define each client’s way of living. This collaborative exchange of ideas forms the foundation of the design process, ensuring every project emerges from a deeply personal narrative.

Each residence is conceived as an entirely bespoke, inherently site-specific work defined by its own architectural identity. These homes are designed as immersive environments that transcend conventional notions of luxury, offering a modern sanctuary where spatial experience, materiality, and lifestyle converge. We call this The Art of Luxury Living®.

Bold, disciplined lines and expressive materials shape both the interior and exterior language of the studio’s work. Through a deep understanding of material performance and sensory qualities, SDH Studio creates architecture that establishes a lasting dialogue between form, environment, and human experience.

Architectural Design

We plan, design, and oversee the construction of new luxury single-family homes that are functional, aesthetically beautiful, and in compliance with local building codes and regulations. Our team creates detailed plans and drawings that illustrate the design of your new home, including floor plans, elevations and sections. Additionally, we create a 3D model of your home to help you fully visualize and realize your vision for your sanctuary.

Architectural Services

The architectural services we provide include architectural programming, schematic design, design development, preparation of detailed construction documents, advice on the choice of contractor by evaluating competitive bids, and assistance during construction to ensure your new home is built exactly to the design specifications. We work with local building departments to obtain necessary permits and ensure that the design of your new home meets all applicable building codes and regulations. We also provide a range of additional services including site analysis, feasibility studies, consultant coordination and project management services.

Interior Design

We provide tailored interior design solutions curated by experienced interior designers to create functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces for single-family homes. We make indoor spaces functional, safe and beautiful by determining space requirements and selecting essential and decorative items, such as color, lighting and materials.

Architectural Consultancy

We offer professional planning, design, project management and budgeting advice and guidance for custom luxury residential projects to private clients and developers, helping them direct design and construction teams in their efforts by providing a unique perspective on the design process. Our team analyzes and defines the architectural problem and summarizes the requirements that must be met in its physical solution, whether it’s an individual room or space, a building, or an entire residential complex.
