Michael Murray Studio
Interior Design Studio
About us
Michael Murray Studio creates considered interiors for private homes and residential developments.
Based in Pukekohe, the studio works across Auckland, Waiheke Island and Waikato, with a focus on proportion, the integrity of natural materials and the way one space relates to the next.
Led by founder and Creative Director Michael Murray, the studio approaches interiors as a complete architectural experience. Spatial planning, bespoke joinery, material palettes and carefully resolved details are developed together to create spaces that feel coherent and personal.
We work collaboratively with clients, architects, developers and craftspeople, carrying a clear design direction from concept through detailed interior documentation. Our practice also includes individual furniture and genuine-material pieces developed as part of the wider interior.
Design fees are tailored to each project’s scope, complexity and level of documentation.
Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Design from AUT and a Diploma in Kitchen Design from the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association. His work has been recognised through NKBA and TIDA awards.
