Dave, Jay & the whole HDMB team are fabulous! We have just moved into our renovation completed last week and even amid the chaos of moving house we are so delighted. From start to finish the guys have been easy to work with and helpful. Jay met with us and helped us mould the big picture, recommended a designer to get the CDC (we wish we'd taken his recommendation) then worked through the plan and costings - he was patient (with our inexperience) and helpful (suggesting details left out of our plans). We signed the contract the day after our baby was born and despite juggling that + 2020, Dave and the demolition and build team made the whole process as smooth as possible. The online system they use was superb for seeing the plan, tracking messages between us and reminding us of things to do / sharing documents. The project wasn't big (22 weeks) and was completed with less than a week delay (and the hold up was our kitchen company). We hope we don't have to do a project like this again for a while but if we do would definitely use HDMB again!

Whilst our renovation was not as big as some others, it was nevertheless a bit daunting to us as first time builders. However, Jay and Dave were brilliant throughout. They were extremely patient and happy to talk us through everything. The job was also finished to a very high quality, on time and on budget (noting that we requested variations). As we went through the job, unsurprisingly we realised that we wanted changes. For example, we decided that we wanted to upgrade the floorboards and we also changed the way that some of the lighting worked. Each time we wanted a change, Dave and Jay were happy to tell us what was possible, what was not, what it would cost and what the delay might be. Luckily all the changes we made were fairly easily accommodated and we were able to stick to the overall schedule. Overall, we were thrilled with how everything turned out. We learned a lot throughout our build. But our biggest learning was to have a builder than you can work with. HDMB is most definitely that! We’re already planning to engage them for the next and bigger stage

We engaged HDMB to complete an extension and addition to our house in the inner west of Sydney. We had originally engaged another builder however that was short lived as he had significantly underestimated some of the costs when we pushed for more detail so we parted ways before we even began. Dave and Jay from HDMB provided us with an extremely detailed quote and took the time to help us work out how we could complete the project within our budget. They were extremely accommodating of us living on site during the build and of us undertaking some of the tasks ourselves (eg some painting etc) to ensure we could achieve this. Dave was onsite every day and regularly communicated the schedule of works and any changes to the schedule, and the invoicing/billing was clear and detailed. Our project was delivered on time and on budget and both Jay and Dave are just lovely guys to work with. We are really happy with the result and the quality of the build. I know a lot of people who have had bad experiences with renovations but for us finishing off what was a 3 year process from finding an architect/approvals and finding a builder to completing the project - we are really pleased that we went with HDMB and would have no hesitation using them again in the future or recommending them to anyone.

Jay and Dave completed our renovation in Annandale, converting our 2 bedroom semi into a beautiful 4 bedroom home. We could not be happier with the quality of their work. At all stages during the build, Dave, Jay and Trent's approach was characterised by their professionalism and perfectionism.

I received consistent feedback from a variety of neighbours which was always positive. HDMB was on site every day, working solidly, fastidiously and quietly. In stark contrast, other nearby sites had extended periods of inactivity and poor standards of workmanship.

HDMB excels at communication. The Buildertrend app is a useful tool which not only tracks expenditure but provides a detailed schedule of the work and deliveries planned for the entire period of the build. Dave would upload photos of the progress each Friday. Checking the app became my Friday night ritual. Dave was always quick to notify me of any issues or reply to my enquiries.

There were many challenges and unforeseen expenses but HDMB was proactive in trying to minimize the costs. Their efficient office staff also ensured that the build ran as seamlessly as possible.

Ultimately, a little act of kindness best encapsulates HDMB's attention to detail. Although the build had concluded, Trent insisted on painting my neighbour's wall, free of charge. He didn't want the dirty, stained wall to impact upon the experience of my beautiful kitchen.
