This house is set within the open landscape of rural South Texas, where the design evolved over time and was ultimately shaped by the clients’ travels, guiding the home toward a French country expression. Limestone walls, steeply pitched roofs, and carefully proportioned openings lend a sense of permanence, while shaded porches, courtyards, and views to the surrounding land anchor the home to its setting. The result is a design that balances Old World character with a relaxed regional sensibility, creating a home that feels both cultivated and deeply connected to its rural context.
