French Farmhouse.

A little bit farmhouse, a tiny touch of French, this home built alongside the waters of Lake Ohakuri is spectacular inside and out.

The location deserved a bespoke approach and when our David Reid Homes Taupo team gave them carte blanche with the design and would guide and project manage the job from the get go these homeowners knew David Reid Homes were their people.

The home owners steered away from the on-point black-on-black kitchen and went for something more welcoming. The culinary hub is located in the centre of the floor plan, close to the covered patio, perfect for entertaining. White cabinetry with a picture-frame profile channels a modern-country style, there are engineered-stone benchtops that look like classic marble and a magnificent double oven in white could feed the thousands.

The home has views of the lake from every room, waking up on a misty morning when steam clouds from the geothermals transform the landscape into a fairytale forest. These are the small touches which turn this house into a home for its delighted new owners.
