This 237 square metres home is a fabulous example of how timber can be used effectively both inside and outside a property. Not only is wood a beautiful and durable material for exterior cladding, but the plentiful use of timber within the home has created a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for family living. The brief was for a home split over two levels, with a third level used as a garage and entranceway. There were multiple angles to consider within the build, particularly around the garage and the living space. The exterior cedar cladding has a concave structure around these features, and as a result, the side angles of the wood are different to the top angles. High-quality and precision craftsmanship was vital. Simplexity rose to the challenge of this intricacy of work and showed their exquisite attention to detail with the multiple angles and complex set-out of the property. The timber floorings, ceilings and custom joinery throughout the interior of the home were again a great demonstration of how a good builder is worth his weight in gold.
