A state-of-the-art museum featuring exhibition galleries and intimate spaces within Brisbane City Hall, designed to host prestigious international exhibitions while offering stunning views of the iconic clock tower and copper-clad dome.
Client: Brisbane City Council
The Museum of Brisbane is designed as a series of exhibition galleries in the upper level of Brisbane City Hall. The new facilities rest behind the ornamental parapets facing King George Square and feature two large exhibition spaces, several intimate galleries, and back-of-house storage and preparation rooms. The museum is designed and equipped to provide state-of-the-art exhibition spaces that meet environmental standards for prestigious international touring exhibitions. The City Hall roof pavilions and commanding clock tower are also accessible from the Museum and provide dramatic views of the copper-clad dome of the building.
