Studco provides value engineered solutions for tall walls in Queensland

Located just 13km from Brisbane’s CBD and around the corner from Queensland’s second largest shopping centre, Westfield Garden City; the MacGregor Home Centre is set to be a convenient go-to hub for furniture and homewares shopping.

Previously a 30-year-old vacant warehouse, developers Aventus Group engaged TRG (The Retail Group) to design and build the repurposed centre, making room for new retail stores such as The Good Guys and Chipmunks. The centre refurbishment included the demolition and reconstruction of several 12 metre high internal walls, new flooring and ceiling.

The 12 metre high walls led contractors DMS Developments to seek a steel stud supplier with the capability to manufacture single studs of this length, without the need for spliced studs. They sought out Ceilings By Design QLD to help find a solutions partner who could provide a cost effective engineered wall design..

Studco Building Systems® was selected as the supplier of choice for steel stud wall systems on the project, coming highly recommended from Ceilings By Design for their agility and reputation of providing value engineering.Studco’s Technical Team developed a light gauge steel stud system that would suit the wall construction with various lining combinations, as one of the only manufacturers with the ability to produce heavy-duty custom length studs of 12 metres, thus negating the need for spliced studs.As a dedicated manufacturer, committed to the projects they are involved in, Studco® worked closely with Ceilings By Design to ensure a smooth process for producing and delivering orders to the site. Studco’s Technical and local infield support teams worked collaboratively to assist with issues on-site and provide design advice throughout the construction.

Studco engineered walls using custom single-length studs. 12m high walls were constructed using a single stud wall system designed & engineered by Studco’s Technical Team. Pictured below:
