Perched on a hillside overlooking the Mountains, Indian Creek Residence, also known as Laxmi Niwas, meaning "house of prosperity" is guided by the ancient Hindu framework of Vastu Shastra, aligning architecture with nature through geometry, materiality and directional intent.
The design brief was to introduce the warmth of natural timber to the facade. The demanding environment called for a material that could offer durability without compromising aesthetic intent. Sculptform’s Click-on Screens in Walnut Wood Finish Aluminium provided the ideal solution, combining natural warmth with long-term performance.
A Timber Facade Rooted in the Hillside
From the street, Indian Creek Residence presents a clean horizontal form with white walls, contrasted by warm Walnut Wood Finish screens that frame the entry.
Sculptform’s Click-on Screens introduces warmth, rhythm, and texture, bridging the contrast between the home’s clean architectural geometry and the natural hillside that rises behind it. They provide privacy for the residents without closing off the home from its landscape, allowing light and views to filter through, maintaining the strong visual dialogue between interior and exterior.
Timber Warmth. Aluminium Performance.
Aluminium in a Wood Finish wrap brings more to the facade than a convincing timber aesthetic. Its lightweight nature reduces structural load, while its stability ensures precise alignment across the facade. Unlike natural timber, it requires minimal maintenance, making it well-suited to external applications in demanding climates.
Sculptform’s Wood Finish Aluminium delivers a stable, high-performing system without compromising design intent.
Why chooseWood Finish Aluminium?
- Ultra-realistic wood finishes with randomized patterns
- Durability without the maintenance
- Fade and scratch resistance finish
- Fire-conscious performance with non-combustible aluminium
Warmth and Texture with Walnut Wrap
The choice of the walnut wood finish wrap was driven by the landscape itself. The surrounding hills, native greenery and organic forms of the site called for a material with genuine warmth, one that would feel at home in nature rather than imposed upon it. The wrap softens the home's contemporary profile and reinforces its connection to place.
Sculptform's Wood Finish Aluminium made that possible by replicating the tone and grain of natural timber while delivering the consistency and durability of aluminium. For Indian Creek Residence, this combination was essential, enabling the design to achieve the desired warmth while meeting the performance of a facade.
A System Built for Precision and Flexibility
Sculptform’s Click-on Screens are engineered as a complete system, designed to deliver accuracy on site. At Indian Creek Residence, the 40mm x 100mm block profile was selected to achieve a clean, consistent facade while simplifying installation. The screens were set out with 76mm spacing, creating a balanced rhythm while maintaining openness for light and views.
A combination of fixed and floating clips was used in a back-mounted configuration, allowing the mounting track to be securely fixed. This ensures long-term stability without compromising alignment or finish quality.
