Historic Nob Hill.

For this classic condominium in the heart of Nob Hill, our primary goal was to create a gallery for our clients’ ever-expanding art collection. The result is a sophisticated city residence with classic proportions and a subdued palette, enlivened by rich textures and materials. We worked with our clients and architect to completely transform the home, proportioning the layout to create an interior that not only provides an effective backdrop for the art collection, but provides more usable spaces for our clients. As part of a move to downsize from a traditional suburban home to this classic San Francisco condominium, we helped our clients hone their existing collection of furnishings, then blended them with a curated selection of new and custom pieces. Employing a careful balance of masculine and feminine elements, we combined a serene backdrop with sculptural pieces that provide a foil for the artwork. This was the first of three projects we would eventually design for these clients.
