Greenwich Village Nursery.

Designed as a joyful yet grounded retreat, the West Village Nursery balances playful nostalgia with thoughtful longevity. From the outset, our clients envisioned a space for their son that felt vibrant and happy while still offering a sense of calm and comfort. A palette of periwinkle blue and light oak became the foundation, guiding every decision throughout the room.

We layered the space with texture and subtle pattern to evoke a sense of warmth and whimsy—introducing a classic checkered wallcovering and a shiplap chair rail painted in Farrow & Ball’s Graupel as a gentle nod to childhood tradition. These elements bring character without overwhelming the room, allowing the nursery to feel both spirited and timeless.

Designed with growth in mind, the layout and furnishings were selected to evolve alongside him. A twin-size cerused oak and bouclé bed with integrated storage offers comfort for late-night moments with mom and dad while seamlessly transitioning into the years ahead. A sculptural dresser and topper set serves a dual purpose, blending function with soft, curvilinear forms that elevate the space.

At its heart, the nursery is defined by its color story—uplifting, nostalgic, and deeply joyful. The room invites a feeling that’s hard to name but instantly felt: a sense of comfort, delight, and the quiet magic of childhood memories in the making.
