About Quartzite products
Quartzite is a metamorphic stone formed when sandstone recrystallizes under heat and pressure. The natural quartzite rock shown here is supplied as stone slabs for interior surfaces. Quartzite rock differs from engineered quartz, which is manufactured.
Quartzite Slabs
A project brief may specify a quartzite kitchen benchtop; in U.S. drawings and fabrication discussions, the surface is called a quartzite countertop. The slabs on this page can be specified for a kitchen or another interior surface, with the layout coordinated to cabinetry and cutouts.
Quartzite products are natural stone slabs, and color names describe appearance rather than performance. Review black quartzite under the room’s planned lighting. Green quartzite can read cooler, while orange quartzite reads warmer; compare the actual slab with nearby finishes before settling the selection.
What does gold in quartzite describe?
Gold in quartzite usually describes a gold-colored area or veining, not proof of metallic gold. Ask for material information if mineral composition matters to the project.
What should be confirmed before fabrication?
Have the fabricator confirm the slab’s usable dimensions, thickness, finish, edge profile, and any sink cutouts or overhang support needed for the layout.
How should a quartzite slab be maintained?
Ask the fabricator whether the specific stone needs sealing and which cleaner is suitable. Follow the care instructions for that slab.
