ArchiPro explores Oblicas’ approach to igniting luxurious warmth in design, transforming heating and comfort into a curated feeling for the home.

When we think of comfort within the home, often warmth comes to mind. In this sense, it seems warmth has become something more visual, tactile and atmospheric. Something you design, not just install in a space.

That’s where Oblica’s idea of luxurious warmth lands with real clarity for the architecture and design community. The brand’s focus is on products which both perform and contribute meaningfully to the overall atmosphere of a space.

Fireplaces are the most obvious expression of this, as Guillaume Roux, Co-founder of Oblica, explains: “A fireplace is often a focal point, but its role can vary significantly. It may be sculptural, like a suspended Focus model, or seamlessly integrated, as with a Stûv or Ortal insert. It can define spatial flow as a room divider or sit elegantly within a corner.”

One notable example is the award-winning Northcote House project in Victoria, where Oblica's Stuv 30 Compact wood fireplace anchors in the circular library.

“The choice of fuel type, wood, gas, bio-ethanol, or electric, comes down to lifestyle priorities,” notes Guillaume. “Wood offers authenticity and ritual. While gas, ethanol, and electric provide convenience and flexibility.”

Comforting consistency

This same thinking carries through to how heat itself is experienced. As homes become more thermally efficient, the conversation has changed along with the increasing demand for soft, radiant warmth; whether from hydronic systems or high-efficiency electric radiators, over forced-air solutions.

“People are moving away from the idea of hot air being blown through living spaces and towards more comfortable, consistent forms of heating,” says Guillaume.

The move into radiators feels like a natural extension of this. Oblica saw this opportunity for radiators to contribute to the design language of a room. “We recognised that most radiators used in Australia, even in high-end projects, were purely functional, often basic pressed steel designs. This presented an opportunity to introduce architecturally considered radiators in a wide range of forms, finishes, and colours,” says Guillaume.

Oblica has recently completed numerous standout projects with one showcasing their collaboration with Technotherm electric radiators in high-end residential spaces. These radiators, which consume up to 25 percent less energy than alternatives, feature advanced controls and a lifespan of over 30 years.

Warmth in design

Oblica are expanding luxurious warmth to a holistic concept, one that extends beyond temperature. The concept is more about comfort and atmosphere across every space, indoors and out, with the brand set to offer bathware, lighting and outdoor living products, as they all play a role in creating warmth in design.

Yet there’s a sense of restraint in the brand's evolution. “We’re mindful of maintaining focus and not overextending ourselves,” Guillaume remarks, even as they explore adjacent categories.

In the end, this design concept of luxurious warmth isn’t about any single product category. It’s about how spaces come together to support our daily rituals, or, as Guillaume puts it, it’s about “best-in-class pieces that bring genuine warmth and atmosphere into interior spaces.”
